Things So Small They Seem Silly (But Genuinely Changed My Life)

Let’s talk about the little things. You know—the kind of changes that seem almost too small to matter but somehow make your day feel smoother, easier, and just a little bit more enjoyable.

I used to brush these kinds of things off. A pink scrunchie? A fancy to-go cup? A curated closet color palette? Cute, but... unnecessary. Right?

Wrong.

Because when you’re juggling a million things—toddlers, pregnancy, work, life, mental load, laundry that never ends—the small stuff? It actually matters a lot.

So here’s my little list of things that seem kinda silly, but honestly? They’ve made a huge difference in how I feel, how I function, and how I show up in my day.

My Silk Scrunchie

First up—the scrunchie. And not just any scrunchie, okay? A silk scrunchie.

It fits comfortably on my wrist (aka it doesn’t leave that weird indent), it doesn’t yank or dent my hair, and it’s... pink. Which makes me feel like I have my life together. Or at least like I’m in my soft girl era, even when I’m wiping up banana off the floor.

Honestly, it's the little luxury I didn’t know I needed. 10/10 recommend.

A Ride-or-Die Go Mug

I never thought I’d be the girl who gets attached to a cup. And yet... here we are.

The SmoothSip® Slider (12 oz) is that girl. It fits perfectly under my espresso machine so I can make my coffee right into it. No extra dishes. It keeps my drinks hot (or cold), seals completely (so no leaking into the diaper bag), and just generally makes me feel like I’m winning at mornings.

She’s coming with me everywhere.

My Everyday Jewelry Stack

I’ve slowly built up a stack of high-quality, wear-every-day pieces over the last two years—and now I literally don’t take them off.

And here’s why that’s a win: I wear a lot of activewear and basics, so this little sparkle? It elevates everything.
I don’t have to think about it. I don’t have to coordinate. And it somehow makes me feel like the most put-together version of myself even when I haven’t washed my hair in 3 days.

A Wardrobe Color Palette

This one took time (and a bit of trial + error), but it has paid off tenfold. I had a color analysis done, and now I know what shades make me feel like my best self.

So now? My closet is full of:
🤍 Neutrals (cream, white, dark grey, black)
🌸 Cool pink
🌲 Deep green
💙 Blue tones

Not only does everything mix and match, but getting dressed is way less stressful. It feels like me—a mix of edgy, western, and laid-back. And I didn’t do it all at once. It’s been a slow, sustainable process that’s been totally worth it.

Unsubscribing From Marketing Emails

Okay, this one might sound too simple… but wow, has it changed things.

Unsubscribing from junk emails =
✔️ A cleaner inbox
✔️ Less FOMO about sales
✔️ Less pressure to impulse-buy things I don’t need

I check my inbox way less often now. I’m not bombarded with “HURRY! 40% OFF ENDS TONIGHT” energy. And honestly? I feel lighter.

All of these things have one thing in common: I didn’t buy them on a whim. I took my time, saved up, and was super intentional about each purchase.

They cost a little more up front, sure. But because I use them constantly, the cost per use is actually super low.

More importantly? They’ve helped me stop chasing more. Because when the things I use every day are things I love, I don’t feel the need to constantly upgrade or impulse buy.

That’s where the sustainability piece comes in. Not just in the eco-friendly sense (though that’s cool too), but in the “I want to build a life I can actually maintain” kind of way. One that doesn’t rely on chaos and burnout and a million plastic impulse purchases from my 2 AM scrolling.

TLDR: These changes aren’t flashy. They’re not trendy. And they’re definitely not “must-haves” in the influencer-y sense of the word.

But they’ve made my life feel better. Easier. More aligned with who I want to be.

And if something as simple as a pink scrunchie or unsubscribing from Old Navy emails can help me do that? You better believe I’m here for it.

Now I want to hear from you—what’s one “tiny but mighty” thing that’s changed your life lately? Drop it in the comments or DM me on Insta @simplifywithbee. I’ll be over here sipping hot coffee out of my forever mug, cheering you on. ☕💕
